Description


Panco Management, a Real Estate investment firm, based throughout the Mid Atlantic is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join our team. The Senior Property Accountant will be primarily responsible for all aspects of property accounting and the monthly close for the assigned portfolio. The right candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strict attention to detail, and the ability to multitask. Additionally, the ability to adhere to all accounting cycle deadlines and collaborate with the full accounting and operations team in the process is essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accurately complete accounting and financial responsibilities within in your assigned portfolio, including but not limited to, forecasting significant changes, variance analysis and compliance of the financial essentials of the tenant leases, utility expense and recovery calculations
  • Prepare, reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts for all financial packages for all portfolios including journal entries for accruals, reclassifications, adjustments and financial statements on an as needed basis
  • Assist with review of calculation and analysis of prepaid expenses and accrued expenses
  • Complete month end financial processes in a timely manner, including a well-maintained ledger and share with the Asset Management Team, Regional Property Managers and Property Managers
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reports including variance reports
  • Post accounts receivables and accounts payable in timely manner and reconcile cash with general ledger balances (Operating, Security Deposit, Security Disbursement, Lockbox, Escrow accounts)
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Assist Regional Property Managers and Property Managers in your portfolio with their annual operating budgets
  • Prepare documentation for external auditors
  • Prepare Prepaid Insurance Analysis
  • Routinely partner with internal teams to include, Asset Management, Property Managers, Revenue Management and Operations, in order to maintain proper, accurate, and timely flow of information
  • Perform special assignments and other related tasks as requested

 JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required
  • 3-5 years in public accounting, real estate and/or private equity experience preferred
  • Real Estate industry experience is highly recommended; multifamily or commercial
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced skills in Excel
  • Knowledge of RealPage Property Management Software a plus but not required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle a high volume of responsibilities
  • Attention to detail and proactive approach to identifying and independently resolving issues
  • Flexibility to perform a variety of duties, including some administrative support task
  • Experience working independently as well as collaboratively; effectively managing priorities while meeting hard deadlines
