Position Summary:

The Senior Associate will be a key member of Nuveen’s Mid-Atlantic Office team and will lead the asset management discipline for the region.  The person will also be actively engaged in all facets of investment management, including acquisitions, dispositions, asset management, as well as, portfolio analysis reporting. This role is currently remote but will be located in the DC office once the office is re-opened. 

Key Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Asset Management of the Mid-Atlantic portfolio.
• Develop, plan, present and execute action plans and budgets to meet portfolio goals.
• Oversee, monitor and lead property teams, partners, leasing teams and vendors in successful execution of stated financial and operational plans across the portfolio.
• Set strategy, oversee and drive leasing.
• Maintain and build relationships with tenants, partners and local community.
• Oversee property teams on day-to-day property portfolio operations.
• Interact and report to stakeholders including portfolio managers and investors.
• Mentor and develop junior staff.
• Oversee and collaborate with other team members on regular and ad-hoc asset reporting, summaries, analytics, asset performance, budget performance.
• Interact with appraisers and review valuations.
• Value impact driven analysis of leasing and capital projects utilizing Excel and Argus
• Actively participate in underwriting, due diligence and closing process for acquisitions, dispositions and recapitalizations. Contribute to investment committee deal memos and presentations.
• Work closely with business partners in other areas such as sustainability, operations, accounting and technology on tasks, platform initiatives and process improvements.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree or higher.
• 5-7 years of commercial real estate experience that includes direct office property asset management experience strongly preferred
• Market expertise within Washington, D.C. metro as well as other Mid-Atlantic regions.
• Strong hands on asset experience and skills including lease negotiation, capital planning and execution, property operations, underwriting, analysis. Development/Value-Add expertise a plus.
• Financial modelling skills with a keen attention to detail, utilizing MS Excel and Argus Enterprise software required.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Proven ability to function both in a collaborative team-oriented setting, as well as, independently.
• Self-motivated, independent problem-solving skills and strong work ethic.
• Travel required (5-15%)
