Applications are now being accepted for the Bicyclist & Pedestrian Program Coordinator in the Planning and Programing Department at Ada County Highway District in the Boise, Idaho area.  This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a starting wage of $26.11 - $30.02 per hour, DOQ.

Primary Duties:

  • The Bicyclist & Pedestrian Program Coordinator is responsible for organizing and managing the District’s various projects and programs pertaining to biking and walking facilities and policies.
  • The incumbent serves as Program Manager for the District’s Community Programs, provides staff support to the District’s Bicycle Advisory Committee and Pedestrian Advisory Group, provides input on biking and walking aspects of projects, and prepares reports, metrics, and policy guidance related to implementation of the District’s Bicycle Master Plan, Neighborhood Plans, and Integrated Five-Year Work Plan. 
  • The incumbent will collaborate and partner with six cities, unincorporated Ada County, citizen advisory committees, consultants, neighborhood associations, mobility-impaired groups, other government agencies, the general public and other District employees.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified candidates must have comprehensive knowledge of bicyclist and pedestrian planning, design and construction; Community development, transportation planning and traffic calming principles; project management, program management, Geographic Information Systems.
  • Understanding of nationally recognized Biking and Walking guidelines.
  • Experience building relationships and working in partnership with external agencies and associations.
  • The successful candidate will have the ability to professionally represent the District while presenting technical information to the public.
  • Qualified candidates will have graduated from a college or university with a degree in Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, abilities and experience will be considered.
