Job Overview:
The Asset Manager will be responsible for maximizing the value of assets under management. The Asset Manager will be entrusted with optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of a large number of diverse single-family assets through ensuring compliance, conducting financial analysis, providing support for the operations. This is a highly detail oriented and process driven position. The Asset Manager will be responsible for supervising more junior Asset Managers and support staff, as well as developing and implementing processes and procedures to be used by the Asset Management team in executing its purpose.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor the full life cycle of single-family rental properties – from on-boarding new property acquisitions to renovation, leasing, and property management.
- Develop and monitor processes and metrics to measure asset performance
- Optimize the use of vendors in renovation, leasing, and property management
- Review and approve strategic leasing policies
- Ensure construction budget adherence, minimize turnover costs, maximize lease rates and collections, minimize maintenance expenses
- Detailed review and analysis of portfolio financial statements and operating performance
- Conduct market analysis, portfolio forecasting and financial reporting
- Negotiate and service asset financing
- Prepare investor reporting and communicate portfolio details to management and investors
- Other duties as directed by management
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of real estate, leasing, analysis, and/or asset management experience
- Strong experience with financial modeling, including detailed property-level financial statement analysis, lease management, and budgeting/forecasting
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, or related field with strong record of academic achievement; Master’s degree preferred
- Strong attention to detail and an understanding of the local residential real estate market and landscape
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of MS Windows, Excel and Word
- Must be comfortable learning new computer systems
- Ability to hold confidential all information that is proprietary to the management of Sylvan Road, subsidiaries, affiliates, and investors
- Highly organized, extremely proactive and detail-oriented individual with the ability to multitask and communicate effectively
Compensation and Benefits Summary:
- Status – Full-time Exempt
- Salary – Base Salary and Bonus commensurate with experience and education
