FIRM
SCALE Lending (“SCALE”), a joint venture between Slate Property Group and a global alternative asset management firm, is seeking an Analyst to join its real estate lending and credit team. The Analyst will focus on underwriting, research and asset management on commercial real estate debt transactions. The candidate should be self-motivated, work effectively in teams, detail oriented, and be able to work on multiple transactions at once in a fast-paced environment.
The candidate will have an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of real estate transactions, including multiple property types in the NYC metro area.
POSITION
The Analyst will be an integral part of the firm’s investment team and will support the underwriting, loan structuring, closing and asset management of structured real estate credit transactions.
Responsibilities will include:
- Preparing credit analysis, financial models and investment memorandums
- Communicating directly with investment committee members on new deal underwriting and diligence
- Researching and analyzing market data on local submarkets in the NYC metro area
- Conducting market and site tours as part of underwriting and asset management process
- Preparing and maintaining weekly pipeline materials
- Presenting deal summaries and asset management updates during weekly investment team meetings
- Working with borrowers, brokers and attorneys to help close transactions
- Monitoring draw requests on construction / development loans
- Monitoring asset performance across a portfolio of seasoned loans
- Asset managing and maintaining Excel models of portfolio positions and valuation metrics for each investment
QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate degree
- 1-2 years of relevant experience, multifamily and condo construction lending experience is a plus
- Must have a high level of proficiency with financial modeling
- Demonstrated investment acumen
- A positive and proactive work ethic
- Extremely detail-oriented and resourceful
- Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Superior written and presentation skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment, as well as independently
