The Senior Development Manager will be responsible for managing assigned entitlement and land development projects from acquisition through entitlement approvals and, when necessary, managing site development and construction.

 

What you will do:

  • Provide input on predevelopment and entitlement budgets, financial models and land development pro-forma models
  • Oversee the processing of entitlements through to the approvals necessary to position a project for ultimate sale.
  • Participate in the selection of the project development team.  Establish project schedules and action lists for the processing of development applications. 
  • Meet with proponents and opponents of the project to present the development plans to illicit their pros and cons on the project. 
  • Negotiate consultant contracts and manage their scope of work contained in such contracts. 
  • Prepare agendas for team meetings, presentations before approving entities and maintain a communication system amongst the development team members to streamline the entitlement process.
  • Attend meetings with government officials and staffs to assist them in understanding the scope of the project being processed
  • Assist the acquisition team in the analysis and due diligence examination of prospective projects.
  • Assist the brokerage and land department in the preparation of a sales offering memorandum as well as to serve as the project technical point of information for the benefit of the sales effort. 

 

What we need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Eight plus years of residential land development experience for a land development or home building company.
  • Must be detail oriented and self-motivated and able to assemble and manage a development team to maximize project yield both physically and profitably.
  • Excellent computer skills with specific experience in MS applications such as Excel, Word, and Publisher required. Microsoft Project, Argus, and Lotus Notes are beneficial.
  • Highly motivated and self-directed analytical thinker
  • Practiced at developing a variety of strategic financial analyses
  • Able to learn new concepts quickly, displays attention to accuracy and detail, and resolves challenges with minimal supervision
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
