We are seeking an Underwriting Analyst who is a self-starter with good Excel skills, who can provide analytical and project-related support by quickly analyzing transactions and preparing proposals to provide multi-million dollar loans to owners of multifamily projects throughout the United States.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with underwriters, production team and borrowers for collection of loan due diligence materials
  • Review and input general and specific data into Greystone’s loan origination system, Closer (a web-based system that incorporates the use of Excel workbooks).
  • Analyze rent roll and operating history data and spread / enter into the financial analysis spreadsheets that are uploaded into Closer
  • Communicate with production team and borrowers to facilitate collection of required application exhibits
  • Enter basic third-party report data (appraisals, physical condition assessments, and environmental site assessments) into the Closer system
  • Inspect properties and prepare inspection reports (training provided by Greystone)
  • Business travel that can include driving and/or flying, with possible overnight stays, as may be appropriate
  • Assist the Underwriter and team in the coordination of all required and necessary intra-company departments, including the closing and underwriting departments
  • Complete and/or assist the Underwriters in the completion of applicable Agency forms for submission
  • Other duties and projects, as may be assigned and deemed appropriate from the manager
 
Experience, Skills and Abilities Required
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Relevant coursework in Accounting, Finance, or Real Estate Finance preferred
  • Some commercial lending or commercial real estate experience preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and multitask multiple projects while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work productively under minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel as well as web-based applications
  • Strong work ethic and detail driven
