The company is a tech-focused real estate development and technology firm. Senior management have decades of experience in successfully completing large and complex transactions globally. The current dynamic business model is well positioned to utilize the shift to a more focused development industry utilizing cutting edge technology and ESG principles. A team of 18 dynamic individuals lead projects in North America and Europe. 

Position Summary 

Director of Finance will oversee financial aspects of the business and drive the company’s financial strategy, planning, investment opportunities and acquisitions. Responsibilities include financial modeling and reporting, valuation analysis and due diligence coordination for strategic partnerships and acquisition & investment opportunities. Evaluates target financial projections, comparable company metrics and cost-benefit analyses to provide leadership team detailed information on valuation drivers, market opportunities and potential deal execution risks. Engages in direct discussions with investment principals, external management teams, the board of directors and other senior parties with fluency in key financial insights. Creates underlying informational infrastructure for periodic financial reporting, including statements of financial performance, forecasts and budgets, and strategic business plans and underwriting strategy for potential development and value-add opportunities. 

 Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Create and maintain financial reporting packages, including periodic financial statements, budgets, projections and investment performance summaries
  • Prepare complex financial models, including valuation models, sensitivity analyses, and return on investment analyses
  • Present key financial insights to a variety of senior leadership and principal investment parties
  • Coordinate due diligence process and deal execution milestones between multiple parties, including potential targets, investors and senior leadership
  • Create investment presentations for internal and external audiences
  • Partner with technology and real estate teams to create lender, strategic partner and other external packages
  • Other duties, as assigned

Core Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of real estate financial conventions and models with solid analytical acumen.
  • Ability to create and maintain complex financial models, including real estate operating models, scenario analyses and returns schedules
  • Excellent written / verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and ability to take initiative in a lean, agile team environment
  • Ability to present detailed strategic and financial information to a wide range of internal and external parties, and to manage key business relationships
  • Adaptability of responsibilities and support roles to respond to new opportunities and market dynamics, as needed
  • Organizational skills, including ability to process extensive data sets and documentation in due diligence processes

Required Experience:

  • College degree or equivalent experience with real estate, business, or finance focus
  • 1 to 3 years experience in finance, real estate or business development areas
  • Exceptional technical data skills, specifically advanced Excel experience
  • Modeling expertise includes Discounted Cash Flow Analysis, comparable company and precedent transaction analysis, acquisition analysis and purchase accounting, and return on investment analysis
  • Experience with financial forecasting and sensitivity analysis
  • Excellent analytical reasoning to identify and resolve issues and ability to present decision making process to management team
  • Visual presentation skills in PowerPoint, InDesign or other software are advantageous
