Position Description

JS Sullivan Development is looking for a well-experienced Project Manager (PM) to join our dynamic in-house Development Team. The position is immediately available and offers opportunities for advancement and career longevity. The role reports directly to the Managing Principal and will be responsible for the coordination of mixed-use, multifamily housing projects in various stages of the project life-cycle – from feasibility analysis and project concept work to schematic design through the production of construction documents and construction administration, to marketing and sales performance analysis. At the project level, the PM will interface with in-house teams, and serve as the primary point of contact with Consulting Architectural firms and Project Consultants (Civil, Structural, MEP, Landscape). The PM will provide direct support to the Creative Director on a range of project design-related activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to the Creative Director, developing an effective working partnership to achieve desired results for all projects
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with Consulting Architectural firms responsible for production
  • Coordinate with Project Consultants (Civil, Structural, MEP, among others), monitoring the process through the completion of Construction Documents
  • Coordinate daily activities, managing concurrent schedules and deliverables for multiple projects, and acting as the point person for all communications and activities
  • Establish productive partnerships with in-house Development and Construction teams, maximizing productivity and streamlining processes for efficient project delivery
  • Perform initial code research and code analysis, utilizing critical interpretation skills to protect design objectives and maximize design & budgetary efficiency
  • Supervise junior members of the Design Division staff as needed, providing clear direction and developing specific skill sets required within the Design Division
  • Additional duties as required



Qualifications & Personal Characteristics

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional office experience in Architecture, Real Estate Development, or related industry experience
  • Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in Architecture, Real Estate Development, or related fields of study
  • Professional Licensure within California – or in process towards CA licensure – a plus
  • Working knowledge of multifamily housing design, documentation and detailing from schematics through construction documents
  • Working knowledge of Type V and Type I construction methods
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, 3DS Max, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of California Building Codes, and the Americans with Disabilities Act
  • Knowledge and experience in managing MEP and Structural consultants and related design documentation
  • Strong desire and commitment to design, constructability, and accuracy
  • Excellent graphic, written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and technical skills
  • Effective management instincts for fellow team members, consultants, and vendors
