POSITION SUMMARY:

The Asset Manager is responsible for strategically managing multifamily real estate investments to maximize property performance, asset values and investment returns. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Experience managing multifamily assets within an institutional caliber organization.
  • Has proven experience in working with all levels of property management professionals to effectively implement the business plan.
  • Has experience working within a joint venture structure, with the ability to manage and develop key relationships with equity partners.
  • Strong ability to proactively recognize, investigate and communicate property level issues to senior management.
  • Review and analyze monthly property level reports to ensure adherence to annual budget.
  • Ability to evaluate and oversee capital improvements and value add strategies, with specific knowledge in the execution of interior unit renovation plans.
  • Collaborate with acquisition and disposition teams throughout the life of an asset to achieve investment objectives.
  • Develop expertise in the geographies of assigned assets and represent DRA in the marketplace.  Understand current market trends related to the demographics, job growth, economic drivers and product supply that affect a portfolio and act on them.
  • Actively participate in the acquisition of new assets – responsible for overseeing the due diligence process inclusive of market analysis, engineering, environment, and financial reviews.
  • Candidate should be a self-starter with proven communication skills and an ability to work within a team environment.
  • Experience in working with Revenue Optimization Systems (Yieldstar or LRO) and RealPage Business Intelligence/Performance Analytics is a plus.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience as a “hands on” asset management specialist in the institutional multifamily sector.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.

 SKILLS/COMPETENCIES

  • Candidate should be a self-starter with proven communication skills and an ability to work within a team environment.
  • Strategic thinking with an ability to execute tactically.
  • Ability to work within tight timeframes and meet strict deadlines.
  • Team player who demonstrates the ability to collaborate with employees throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel and Word.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy along with ability to multitask and prioritize.

TRAVEL:

  • Position located in NYC with 25% travel required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The work is sedentary, typically employee sits comfortably to do the work, however employee may also travel to various properties.  Therefore, there will be walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as luggage, laptops, or notebooks.
