JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to manage and support the implementation of energy and sustainability initiatives for a large industrial client with a portfolio of 700+ properties in North America.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures that global energy and sustainability standards are applied throughout a client portfolio.
Responsible for identifying and implementing cost saving strategies and budgeting for utilities within an account.
Coordinates energy procurement, renewable energy purchasing and implementation of new technologies with the global energy and sustainability platform.
Develops and presents monthly energy and sustainability status and variance reports. Monitors and reports on energy use, water use, waste diversion rates and spending trends.
Engages FM team and the global energy and sustainability team to identify and develop energy projects. Responsible for formalizing the scope, obtaining quotes, performing project savings analysis and obtaining project approval.
Understands and can calculate building energy consumption profiles. Has a detailed knowledge of building systems, industrial processes, energy and water efficiency projects and industry standards for measurement & verification of energy savings. Provides energy and sustainability related inputs to preventative maintenance and engineering teams as directed. Conducts energy audits and develops energy proposals for the sites under management
Strong people and communication skills required. The candidate should be able to work with the client, FM leadership and facility operations team members to communicate value, progress and mentor as needed.
Collaborates with the global CBRE platform on the implementation and management of energy and sustainability projects in a timely and accurate fashion.
Communicate past, present and future energy plans and performance through formal presentations to account team.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Recommends staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year College or university. Minimum of five years of related experience and/or training. Minimum of four years of managerial experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
CEM and LEED accreditation preferred. Training and accreditation part of development and performance management requirements.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues.
FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE
Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES
Carbon footprint reporting experience or training preferred. Training and accreditation part of development and performance management requirements.
