Abacus Capital Group, LLC is a New York headquartered market specialist focused solely on the U.S. Multifamily market. Founded in 2004, Abacus serves institutional investors through a series of commingled funds.  Those funds target value-add, core and core plus investments. 

Operationally Abacus specializes in market analysis, acquisitions, development and implementing its proprietary business plans.  Though Abacus is headquartered in New York, we have substantial regional offices in Los Angeles, Dallas, and Denver.  Abacus is looking to expand its regional presence in Southeast Florida with the opening of a new office in either West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, or Fort Lauderdale.  

Position Background: 

We are currently seeking an Regional Asset Manager to join the Abacus team based out of our future Southeast Florida office. 

We are looking for individuals with property management and asset management expertise in the multi-family real estate industry.  The role supports the efforts of the East Coast Team’s site level business plan execution.  This includes property management oversight, operations analytics, lease-up strategy and execution along with acquisition and disposition support.

The position will require travel throughout the East Coast.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Familiarity with multifamily on-site property management operations.
• Role will entail Asset Management responsibilities for both stabilized legacy value-add deals, as well as, lease-up responsibilities of new development projects and ongoing operations of stabilized development projects.
• Ability to both conduct and understand market research for both revenue and expense.
• Familiarity with major MSAs in Florida and Georgia a plus.
• Experience interfacing with 3^rd party managers, general contractors, and construction management personnel.
• Understanding of multifamily capital markets.
• Create and take ownership of annual operating budgets and asset performance.
• Coordinate project specific branding, marketing and advertising activities.
• Prepare presentation materials for both internal and external purposes

Skills/Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree or MBA with 7-10+ years of direct real estate Asset Management experience seeking a growth opportunity.
• Hard worker & team player - no task too small. Getting the job done and exceeding expectations is the key to integrating successfully into our team.
• Excellent time management – use time effectively and efficiently, can attend to a broad range of activities across many disciplines, in many locations, with a variety of project teams
• Familiarity with financial modeling and budgets in excel
• Ability to write clear and concise communications.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency in RealPage, Procore, Microsoft Planner and Teams a plus.
• Ability to run meetings, set agendas and issue meeting minutes.
• The ability to present to a group either internally or before investors.
• Ability and willingness to travel 25% of the time.
