Marcus & Millichap Capital Corporation (the "Company"), a subsidiary of Marcus & Millichap, Inc. (NYSE:MMI) is seeking a Managing Director to oversee national production. The successful candidate will lead the Company’s overall growth, including the hiring, managing and continuous development of capital markets advisors, directing and enhancing the Company’s client development and capital provider relationships, and management and service delivery activities for owners/investors. The position will report to the Executive Vice President of the Company and will work closely with the EVP and other corporate business leaders in the acquisition and integration of both companies and teams of advisors.
 
The Managing Director will be principally charged with establishing the Company as a market leading provider of capital markets financing solutions in the debt, equity, and loan sales space.

This objective will be accomplished by:

  • Maintaining and growing the existing core private client business revenue stream while building out additional talent and capabilities for mid-market and institutional client markets.
  • Working with Company leadership and investment sales management at Marcus & Millichap to achieve market level capture of financing on properties where Marcus & Millichap represents the seller of a property.
  • Assessing the Company’s current profile as a service provider throughout the nation.
  • Analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of competitive firms then developing an overview of the services that Company clients / potential clients believe would be the most important drivers to meet or exceed the Company’s business plan.
  • Developing and implementing a strategic plan to meet corporate goals.
  • Significantly enhancing and promoting the Company's national competitive position and aggressively expanding the firm's representation of not only local accounts but also regionally based and national accounts.
  • Supporting group heads and internal management through providing thoughtful services and solutions to Marcus & Millichap sales agents within Institutional Property Advisors (IPA), National Multifamily Housing Group (NMHG), and other specialty teams.
  • Expanding existing business lines to drive the business and deliver the highest level of service across product lines.
  • Working daily with advisors to enhance their market position and to assist them in generating greater revenue and capturing more market share.
  • Creating and maintaining relationships with lenders to achieve superior execution on transactions, negotiate correspondent and other revenue generating agreements and cross sell the entire suite of services.
  • Identifying and acquiring companies, teams of advisors and individual advisors.
  • Organizing an efficient client management and execution team selection process to ensure the highest quality of service delivery.
  • Expanding relationships with key market leaders, associations, and professional organizations to function as an active source of referrals to cement the Company as the real estate service provider of choice.
Key Attributes/Experience:

  • A minimum of 7 to 10 years of relevant experience as a business builder and leader with a proven track record of success.
  • Agency lending experience with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac or an approved agency lender with a core focus on origination.
  • Highly recognizable within the commercial real estate industry as a thought leader with significant lender and client relationships.
  • Ability to successfully transfer or develop key relationships to the firm.
  • Ability to recruit, motivate, develop and retain advisors.
  • Demonstrated record of success or clearly possessing the skills and related business experience in managing a comparable business with P&L responsibility.
  • Excellent management skills and adept at successfully implementing business initiatives in a matrixed organization.
  • Highly intelligent and creative thinker, with the personal focus, energy, and leadership style to drive a multi-tiered, multi-faceted business.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the personal style to successfully act as a positive catalyst for change.
  • Ability to assess and optimize risk/reward at the macro and micro level.
