We are currently looking for a Senior Analyst, Pricing & Analytics.

Position Overview:

We currently have a need for a Senior Analyst, Pricing Analytics to join our VARS business unit. VAR’s provides tech-enabled, expert led, valuation advisory, risk management and ALM solutions to 500+ institutions (all types), across the spectrum of financial instruments and illiquid investments. Monthly, VAR’s values up to $100B of loans and up to 9,000 unique securities.

The data and insights driven professional we seek will use models, methodologies, guidelines, and professional judgement to perform valuations and calculate pricing of mortgage-related assets including whole loans, RMBS, CMBS and ABS.

Essential Job Functions:

* Direct and oversee the collection, organization and documentation of data including client
* portfolio(s), collateral performance metrics, transactional market information and research publications, etc.
* Lead maintenance and documentation of the Whole Loan Valuation and RMBS Transition Rate Models.
* Use industry models like Polypaths and Andrew Davidson & Company to manage interest rate and credit risks which includes forecasting prepayment, delinquency, default, and loss probabilities.
* Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of valuation models and methodologies.
* Interface with clients to explain modeling developments and understand their needs.
* Keep abreast of current market conditions in the mortgage and structured finance markets.
* Utilize tools such as Microsoft Office, Excel, VBA, SQL and/or R to perform data analytics/analyses.

Qualifications / Requirements:

* Bachelor’s Degree in related field required.
* 3-6 years of relevant experience in a valuation or buy-side role.
* Strong experience creating financial analyses utilizing fixed-income valuation principles in the mortgage and structured finance markets highly desired.
* Must have a strong understanding of relevant financial and fixed-income topics.
* Experience with VBA, SQL, R and/or Tableau.
* Position requires strong verbal and written communication skills

The pay range for this role is $62,000 to $85,000 annually.

Discretionary Bonus: You may be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus which may be paid annually or more frequently as determined by SAMC senior management. In general, SAMC considers the performance of the firm, the employee’s performance, his or her department’s performance, compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and internal guidelines, and external market factors in awarding bonuses. Discretionary bonuses are subject to the final approval of SAMC’s management. Employees must be actively employed by SAMC at the time the bonus is paid in order to be eligible for a bonus. Whether or not an employee receives a bonus and, if so, the amount of the bonus is at the sole discretion of SAMC management.
