Human Resources Manager Overview: Deliver services in a well-organized, comprehensive, compliant, and employee-centric experience. Support the resolution of human resources and talent management business challenges.   

With at least 5 years of human resources experience, evaluate and implement solutions within designated areas of responsibility demonstrating credibility and integrity to the human resources function.
Essential Functions:

  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law to effectively deliver services.
  • Directly support the resolution of business challenges, performing core human resources services (e.g., administering pay, benefits, and leave, enforcing company policies and practices, reporting, budgeting, workforce planning, job and compensation analysis, recruiting, performance management, safety and security, employee and labor relations, corporate communications, onboarding and offboarding, etc.).
  • Apply human resources and administrative policies and procedures across the organization in cooperation with senior management, setting expectations to follow federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices. In coordination with other human resources staff, manage the organization and required updates of all employment-related forms and benefit plan documents and records.
  • Responsible to maintain accurate and real-time employee data in the company’s human resources management system (HRMS), and HR technology resources in areas of primary respective duties. In all cases, responsible to maintain high quality data integrity, recordkeeping, and procedures to support innovative and data-driven decisions, setting priorities aligned with senior management’s expectations, sophisticated analytics, and measurable outcomes.
  • Support methods of identifying, developing, and retaining top talent. Directly manage the talent acquisition process. Collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for open positions. Build a strong talent brand, leveraging automation and efficiency.
  • In all cases, perform as an excellent team player; partnering with HR colleagues on other team activities to set expectations of a coordinated, timely, proactive, and well-executed approach to the delivery of all HR and talent management services within the firm. Perform as an ethical role model to positively influence employees, ensuring confidentiality and privacy as appropriate.  
  • Champion implementation of strategic initiatives. Make recommendations in support of business needs. Research innovative solutions and adapt to changes in technology and the work environment.
  • Support the firm’s training, learning, and development programs.   
  • Focusing on a total rewards perspective, recommend employee relations practices necessary to maintain a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale, motivation, productivity, overall engagement, and a diverse, and inclusive environment.
  • Prepare and analyze human resources and administrative reports to effectively obtain, store, present pertinent data and information.
  • Participate in the resolution of employee relations issues, anticipating problems whenever possible, and develop, recommend, and initiate appropriate steps for managing risk.
  • Represent the company and manage the communication, documentation, and auditing processes of assigned employment services and employee benefits (e.g., disability claims, workers’ compensation, unemployment insurance claims, leave of absences, accommodations, etc.) as needed and required.
  • Manage the job description inventory. (e.g., perform job evaluations, recommend position description updates, assign job codes, prepare job postings, etc.).
  • Accurately perform payroll data entry procedures, utilizing an automated system. Inspection and maintenance of related records is required, ensuring tax reports are filed and notices are addressed.  
  • Administer employee benefit plans and programs, as assigned.
  • Lead and perform duties in support of employee well-being, occupational health, safety and security, and business continuity planning.
  • Uphold meticulous recordkeeping practices, ensuring that documentation is preserved in accordance with policy and regulation, and available for inquiries or examinations in real-time.

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resource management or related discipline is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of human resources experience in a professional environment.
  • A designation in human resources demonstrating mastery of the practical, technical, and operational aspects of HR management and U.S. laws and regulations is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to proficiently leverage technology and apply practical and critical thinking skills, in all areas, including maintaining knowledge in the use of metrics, data, benchmarks, surveys, and other relevant human resources functions.  Ongoing demonstration of business acumen is required.
  • Continuously brings credibility to the human resources function seeking to refine professional qualifications and leadership skills projecting the highest levels of integrity. Superior interpersonal communication and organizational skills are required. Essential to display fundamental human resource knowledge and sound judgment.
  • Must be self-driven, possess a high degree of ownership and have strong business acumen, excellent business writing and influencing skills, planning/project management skills and thrive working in a fast-paced, professional environment. This role requires dealing with a high level of ambiguity and feel comfortable operating in a space with little direction for solving hard, complex human resources matters.
  • Current proficiency in intermediate level Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point, and Adobe. MS SharePoint a plus. Experience working with a learning management system (LMS), talent management and acquisition software is preferred.  Possess aptitude for learning HR technology applications.
  • This position requires applicants to be authorized to work in the United States.

 Work Environment:

  • This job primarily operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets. This is a largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
  • Minimal travel is required.
