Description


Our client is an investment management company with an open-end fund that focuses on investing primarily in US based commercial real estate debt. They are looking for an experienced analyst or associate to fill a role blending asset management, CFO support, and investor relations in their Greenwich, CT office. The firm invests in fixed and floating rate loans for all major asset classes (multifamily, office, mixed-use, industrial, hotel & retail) as well as joint venture equity investments. The candidate must have strong math and analytical skills, excel modeling skills, communication skills both verbal and written, and be a positive team player.

Primary Responsibilities

Asset Management:
* Monitor and analyze asset performance to mitigate portfolio risk - construct financial models, sensitivity analyses, comparable analyses and other discrete financial analyses as well as market research
* Work with external partners including sponsors, co-lenders, attorneys, loan servicers and third-party consultants
* Fully understand loan documents and confirm borrower conformity
* Prepare for and participate in bi-monthly frequent portfolio reviews
* Work with investment team to monitor existing investments on an on-going basis with an understanding that asset management is also an extension of originations/sourcing since more than 50% of investments are from repeat relationships
* Conduct property and market due diligence with travel as required
* Review and process borrower requests and present to team for approval
* Analyze monthly and quarterly property financial reporting
* Develop asset management committee memoranda
* Assist in the day-to-day tasks of the group including the creation of presentations, excel spreadsheets, databases, etc. on an ad hoc basis

CFO Support
* Work with CFO to ensure that the books, records, general ledger, reports, financial statements are accurate and assist CFO in improving policies, procedures and internal controls.
* Assist in the preparation of corporate budgets, financial forecasts, and variance reports as needed.
* Assist with all deal closings, fundings and treasury support

Investor Relations
* Work with Head of Capital Formation to support all investor relations and reporting functions as needed

* Assist in creating presentations and pitch books that effectively articulate the investment philosophy and strategy to potential and existing investors
*
* Assist in responding to prospective investors questions, follow up information and RFPs
* Assist senior principals of the firm with strategic decisions and business initiatives associated with fundraising, marketing and investor relations

Qualification and Experience (Academic, Professional, Relevant Job Knowledge)
* Bachelor’s degree from a top undergraduate institution
* 2-5 years of experience in commercial real estate debt; construction loans and JV equity a plus

* Strong willingness to pick up the phone and communicate and build relationships with others verbally.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills; Willingness to dig into legal documents and grasp structural elements and deal terms and nuances

* Ability to collaborate effectively with loan servicers, banks, borrowers, lawyers, service providers and investment team
* Strong computer modeling skills with a thorough knowledge of Excel including the ability to perform cash flow analyses, and Power Point to create and modify presentations
* Ability to work within an institutional culture, providing best in class service to firm and fund investors
* Ability to work in a team environment, yet work independently with little supervision
* Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities and meet multiple deadlines
* Excellent attention to detail
* Ability to excel in a rigorous and fast-paced team-oriented work environment
