Our equity business makes and manages CRE equity investments in multifamily, industrial, office, land for the development of such, and other types of CRE equity investments as warranted by market conditions.

Our affiliated credit business, Mack Real Estate Credit Strategies, L.P. (MRECS) is focused on transitional commercial real estate lending and other debt investments.

Mack Real Estate Development LLC (MRED), a subsidiary of MREG, is a full-service real estate development business specialized in entitling, designing, and delivering institutional quality commercial real estate projects.

Summary
MRED is currently seeking to hire an Associate Development Manager. This individual will be responsible for supporting and collaborating with the development team for multifamily and commercial development projects in the Western U.S. This individual will be involved in a full range of development activities including, but not limited to acquisition, entitlement, design, financing, and construction administration.

Essential Functions
  • Assist in the day-to-day management and coordination of development projects including but not limited to:
    • Administration, scheduling, reporting, budget tracking.
    • Pre-feasibility and feasibility assessments, including conducting market analysis (rent and sales comps), assisting in due diligence research and third-party report requests.
    • External consultant coordination and contract administration.
    • Coordination with internal and external teams to create project branding, lease up/ marketing strategy, and implementation.
  • Assist with the entitlement and land use approval process: supervise third party consultants, including architects and entitlement consultants; prepare and submit entitlement development applications, and work with city officials to secure approval and participate in community outreach and public hearings.
  • Assist with project design: Work with architect and engineers to define development program and site plan; communicate design standards and program requirements; and work with general contractor to estimate project costs and ensure conceptual design is within budget.
  • Assist with construction administration, including monitoring project progress by conducting regular site visits throughout the Western U.S., attending recurring meetings and coordination of contract change orders.
  • Assist with transition to operations: work with Property Management and Asset Management to coordinate construction close-out, punch-list and warranty items, FF&E Installation, and marketing initiatives.
  • Attend and disseminate notes at development meetings, milestones (community meetings, public hearings, etc.), and industry events (webinars, site tours).
  • Research new trends, technologies, sustainability initiatives, evaluate cost-benefit analysis and recommendations for implementation into development projects.
  • Manage and update company standards and specifications for new construction projects, including horizontal rental communities, mid-rise, and high-rise construction types.
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience.
  • Some knowledge of key aspects of real estate development and finance, land use and entitlement, property due diligence and acquisition, and site planning and design.
  • Candidate should have strong analytical and problems solving skills; good client and public presentation skills; and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other construction related software.
  • Ability to effectively present information in oral, written and graphic form.
  • Creative, analytical, and capable of demonstrating skills in organizing and evaluating information and in proactively finding solutions.
  • Working knowledge in calendar and scheduling, document management, and control.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architectural Degree desirable, but not required.
