Real Estate Private Equity:
Our Single Family Residential Equity strategy (Amherst Residential) has quickly scaled over the last 7 years to own and operate 40,000+ homes in 29 markets across 19 states while building a vertically integrated real estate investment and operating platform. Across the SFR strategy, Amherst has raised almost $3.5bn in equity and arranged approximately $10.7bn in debt financing over the last seven years and is currently investing more than $350mm a month in single family real estate assets.

Summer Analyst Internship:
The Summer Analyst will support our portfolio management team by providing financial analysis, business modeling, and strategy development within our single family residential capital management platform. During the program, you will be exposed to senior leadership and executives across all Amherst businesses to fully understand how we operate.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist internal teams to develop, maintain and improve investment and fund-level models, ensuring accuracy
  • Provides analysis to drive strategic decision making in areas such as portfolio composition, financing/capital structure and growth/exit opportunities
  • Partner closely with Asset Management, Investor Relations, and Financial Planning & Analysis to facilitate investment decision making and operational processes
  • Coordinate with the Acquisition team to forecast fund sources and uses and drive portfolio composition
  • Amalgamate information across functions to address ad hoc investor requests
  • Understand the economic impact of revenue and expense functions
  • Highlight fund and asset-specific issues and opportunities
  • Work on projects as assigned but also have strategic responsibility of certain functions and responsibilities of the team

Requirements:
  • Currently pursuing Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field; Finance, Math, Business, Economics with a strong interest in Real Estate
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Experience with Excel modeling
  • Microsoft Office skills, specifically with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Basic project management abilities
  • Proven ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and tasks
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Effective interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
