The Senior Associate will work directly with the Asset Manager overseeing the South Florida region. This role will be involved in the underwriting and due diligence work associated with new deals, oversight and strategy implementation within the existing portfolio, the handling of dispositions, working through internal and external property valuations and completing various internal and external reports. Activities include strategic investment decision making, loan surveillance and investment performance reporting. This position will be responsible for overseeing the asset management function for a Class A and B office property portfolio in Palm Beach and Broward counties.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Coordinate with senior management, property managers, leasing agents, lenders, and accounting in the implementation of business plans for existing assets
  • Review RFPs and leasing proposals prepared by leasing agents as well as subsequent lease documents prepared by counsel
  • Review and assist in preparing monthly reports for investment partners and lenders
  • Coordinate property managers, architects and general contractors on renovations and developments
  • Conduct quarterly valuations of existing assets
  • Prepare ad hoc analyses at senior management, investment partner or lender request
  • Produce quarterly market update reports
  • Prepare annual budgets and reforecasts with property management teams
  • Perform financial analyses to understand the impact of various asset level decisions
  • Participate in acquisitions process by assisting in asset-level diligence and the onboarding process
  • Build relationships with leasing agents, contractors, and stakeholders to further portfolio performance

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with Finance or Real Estate focus
  • 3-5 years of commercial property and finance experience
  • Familiar with property evaluation
  • Demonstrate a combination of personal motivation, academic aptitude, quantitative skills, and distinguished written and oral communication skills
  • Related commercial real estate experience through professional work
  • Strong ARGUS, financial analysis and excel modeling skills
  • Demonstrated ability to perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of deals using financial modeling techniques and a strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently produce high quality work under tight time frames
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities to conclusion within agreed upon deadlines
  • Self-starter with highly effective independent work skills that can function effectively within a team environment
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team of assertive personalities
  • Capable of delivering results on time, on budget
  • Well-developed analytical, interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills
