POSITION: Senior Analyst – Underwriting
JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Analyst will perform underwriting and financial analysis of potential acquisitions and dispositions of commercial properties, development of new buildings, and property and lease administration services for the company’s national portfolio; including, but not limited to: lease abstracting, analysis and administration, tenant relationship management, and real estate reporting. This position requires a flexible and organized individual, comfortable in a fast paced and dynamic environment, where multi-tasking is required. They will also work directly with the Partners, and act as a liaison between the Acquisition, Asset Management, and Property Management Teams. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic, growing, privately-held firm in the hottest asset class (industrial) in commercial real estate. This position is located at the firm’s corporate headquarters in Dallas, Texas.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Underwriting of potential acquisitions & development opportunities.
- Financial analysis of offers to purchase company properties.
- Assist in the loan approval & administration processes.
- Participation in the creation of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reports and budgets.
- Maintain accurate Rent Rolls and Leasing Status Reports.
- Coordinate with the Property Management Team in the reviewing, tracking and disseminating floor plans, tenant improvement costs, and building operating expenses.
- Monitor critical dates (renewals, rate increase dates, etc.), Lease Commission Agreements and Leasing Commissions.
- Assemble final lease approval packages for partner review and execution.
QUALIFICAITONS:
- Four-year college degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, real estate, or a related field is preferred, but not required if applicant has the necessary applicable experience.
- One year of experience in underwriting, finance, or asset/property management is required.
- Strong MS Excel and analytical skills needed. Experience with Argus, rDCM or other CRE cash flow analysis software helpful.
- Experience in reading and interpreting commercial leases and/or legal documents preferred.
- Ability to deal professionally and communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external clients.
- Motivated self-starter with effective organizational skills, including the ability to multitask, maintain organized files, independently prioritize work assignments, and follow through on assignments.
- Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Experience using Apple Mac’s is a plus.
