JOB SUMMARY
The Investment Analyst / Associate is responsible for supporting the Acquisitions and Asset Management teams with all facets of mixed-use multifamily property investing, operations, management, and external reporting.  Responsibilities will include detailed financial underwriting, excel modeling, creation of investment memoranda, presenting to investment committee, coordinating due diligence efforts, assisting in the management of renovations and operations of the assets, and investor reporting.  The successful candidate will have a healthy work ethic, ability to multi-task, think proactively/independently, strong modeling skills, a deep desire to be successful, and a passion for real estate.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performing detailed financial analyses of investment opportunities
  • Preparing appropriate documents to facilitate the underwriting and closing of real estate transactions
  • Interfacing with brokers, investors, lenders and other key internal and external stakeholders
  • Perform market research to help make prudent and informed investments, including rent and sales comparables
  • Communicate and collaborate with various internal departments and external consultants to collect information and ensure all members have current information to help inform management and investment decisions
  • Due diligence analysis and process, including onsite inspection coordination, requests for proposals, and reviewing draft 3rd party reports
  • Coordination of internal and third-party vendors
  • Onboard third-party property management and assist with the transition and ongoing management of acquired assets
 
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Must have financial modeling experience, preferably in real estate sector.
  • High level of proficiency of Excel and Power Point
  • Ability to drive multiple tasks with competing priorities
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated and ambitious.  Enthusiastic to work and succeed in a collaborative team environment.
  • Organized and strong time management skills
  • Comfortable in a small entrepreneurial organization experiencing growth
  • Detail oriented and committed to delivering thorough work product
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.  MBA a plus, but not essential if the candidate has strong industry experience
  • 2-5 years of real estate investing or financial analysis at an I-Bank, PE shop or consulting firm
  • Multifamily investing/financing/evaluation experience preferred
