A local real estate developer seeks a Marketing & Community Engagement Manager for a large-scale urban mixed-use project in the Boston metro area.  This rewarding role offers a chance to refine or showcase skills and gain experience relative to marketing, public relations, and community engagement disciplines while working on a transformative real estate project in one of Boston’s up and coming neighborhoods.  Candidate will manage day-to-day efforts to market the project to various user groups, build relationships with critical local stakeholders and advance the project’s goals around workforce development and workforce diversity. The role will involve periodic evening and weekend work.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Aid in developing marketing and community engagement strategies for the project and the project components (retail, residential, commercial spaces)
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors to deliver project marketing and public relations initiatives (promotional materials, website, news media, social media, signage, email, events, etc.)
  • Help bring new ideas for design and content creation to the team
  • Develop and/or critically review content for a variety of marketing and PR materials
  • Establish rapport and liaise with residents, businesses, city and non-profit organizations
  • Identify and implement local community engagement opportunities (collaborations, sponsorships, events, etc.)
  • Monitor and engage in relevant social discussion about our work
  • Plan and implement local workforce development initiatives aimed at positioning local residents to participate in the expanding local economy
  • Develop and implement plans to increase local employment opportunities for local residents and diversify the local workforce
  • Coordinate with contractors, employers, local residents, service providers and the city relative to workforce development and diversity hiring efforts
  • Serve as a liaison between the development team, the neighborhood and new retail, life sciences and residential tenants
  • Prepare reporting relative to marketing and workforce development efforts
  • Additional duties as directed by development team leadership

 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • A minimum of three years of related experience
  • Strong communications skills
  • Motivated, self-starter, willing to work in entrepreneurial culture
  • Experience with a variety of marketing channels
  • Attention to detail
  • Excel, Word, and PowerPoint proficient
  • Experience with Mailchimp or other email marketing services
  • Adobe Creative Suite proficiency a plus
  • Squarespace web experience a plus
  • Real estate experience a plus
