Description
A local real estate developer seeks a Life Sciences Leasing Director for a large-scale urban mixed-use project in the Boston metro area. This rewarding role offers a chance to help expand the local life sciences ecosystem while working on a transformative real estate project in one of Boston’s up and coming neighborhoods. Candidate will manage day-to-day efforts to market the project to potential tenants, direct brokers, negotiate leases and manage tenant relationships from inception through tenant improvements and occupancy.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Work with the ownership team and the brokerage team to develop and implement leasing strategies for individual buildings as well as the master plan
- Direct the commercial brokerage team
- Organize and direct letter of intent and lease negotiation process in partnership with development team, property operations, legal and tenant coordination to achieve timely lease executions
- Achieve key performance metrics for the project by analyzing and providing Landlord feedback on letters of intent
- Partner with tenant and developer’s construction management team to ensure successful completion of the tenant improvements
- Develop management approaches or process improvements to make the leasing process more efficient
- Manage the tenant relationship from inception to occupancy in a manner that ensures a Class A experience
- Develop a comprehensive market understanding (local and national) and competitive analysis by reviewing leasing data, current market dynamics, leasing trends, demographics, competitive set and tenant decision drivers.
- Represent the project at trade events and build industry relationships, locally and nationally
- Provide input on the design, amenities, tenant offering and underwriting for new building projects during the planning stages
- Prepare reporting relative to leasing and marketing efforts
- Additional duties as directed by development team leadership
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements include:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- A minimum of 10 years of related experience
- Experience in Life Sciences Landlord-Tenant lease negotiations
- Experience in Boston life sciences market strongly preferred
- A team player who can multi-task and is self-directed
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

- Life sciences property management experience is a plus
