The Opportunity

The Milestone Group is a leading private equity real estate firm focused on the U.S. multifamily sector predominantly in the major Sunbelt markets of the U.S. The firm relies on rigorous research, analytics and active investment management which the firm has combined to deliver industry leading returns over the past 20 years and across $9 billion of real estate investments.

Milestone is looking for a dynamic individual to join its acquisitions team.  As a Vice President of Acquisitions, you will be a key team player investing Milestone’s fully discretionary private equity vehicles. Milestone is currently investing its value-add Fund V, a $750 million discretionary fund, and expects to launch Fund VI later this year.

The successful candidate will be able to leverage their personal relationships combined with Milestone’s strong reputation with institutions and the brokerage community to be responsible for sourcing regional acquisitions as well as national portfolio core plus and value-add opportunities. 

You will

• Be a key member of the firm’s acquisitions team responsible for a region of the country sourcing off-market and marketed investment opportunities 
• Maintain and build relationships with brokers and property owners in your region
• Identify and underwrite potential investment opportunities, formulate property business plans and value-add strategies, and present potential acquisitions to the firm’s investment committee
• Work side by side with the firm’s asset management team to finalize property business plans, complete due diligence and onboard acquisitions

You have

• 5 to 10 years relevant experience in multifamily real estate acquisitions and investments is required
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
• Creativity and ability to navigate complex transactions
• Strong understanding of markets, submarkets and local economies
• Ability to recognize property value, upside opportunity and knowledge of physical real estate
• Significant existing relationships in the multifamily community including brokers and owners
• Demonstrated comfort with multitasking and an ability to thrive in fast-paced environment
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA is a plus
• Keen attention to detail and are self-motivated
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with poise and an ability to interface with senior management, industry professionals, investors and brokers
• Willingness to travel as necessary

Compensation is commensurate with experience. Milestone offers an attractive compensation plan which includes competitive salary and a performance-based bonus plan, equity participation, matching 401k plan as well as a full medical benefits package.
