Founded in April 1994, Westbrook Partners is a fully integrated real estate investment management company with offices in Boston, Los Angeles, New York, Palm Beach, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., London, Paris and Tokyo. The company is currently comprised of over 100 professionals responsible for acquisition, value enhancement, financial accounting, tax, legal and risk management. Westbrook’s professionals have invested and committed in excess of $14 billion of equity in over $50 billion of real estate transactions located throughout the world, through ten private real estate investment funds. These funds are capitalized by a diverse group of primarily domestic institutional investors including public and corporate pension funds, endowments, foundations and financial institutions. Westbrook sponsored funds make investments in a broad range of real estate assets, portfolios and companies, including office, industrial properties, apartments, hotels and resorts, residential lot developments, operating companies, real estate investment trusts, high yield debt securities and commercial mortgage-backed securities. Westbrook Partners is currently responsible for investing and managing Westbrook Real Estate Fund XI, which has over $2.5 billion of capital commitments.

The San Francisco office focuses on the acquisition, asset management, repositioning and development of commercial and residential properties in key metropolitan areas throughout the West Coast. The candidate may also support investment teams located in other U.S. cities and other strategic initiatives as needed.

 

Job Description

  • Support the West Coast Team in all asset management functions related to existing portfolio of commercial and residential investments (office, residential, apartments, industrial, etc.)
  • Lead negotiations on leases, construction management agreements, ancillary agreements with oversight from West Coast senior members of the team
  • Work in close collaboration with existing joint venture partners in overseeing overall business plans, which include pre-development, renovation and on-going lease-up of existing assets
  • Gather market intelligence across each of the primary markets across the West Coast related to leasing activity, future development pipeline, and relevant trades
  • Lead preparation of Excel asset management, valuations and cash flow models and memoranda, with assistance from junior team members, for evaluation by the West Coast Team and Portfolio Management/Accounting Teams

 

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Economics
  • 5-10 years of relevant institutional real estate or investment banking experience, including previous experience with real estate asset management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience modeling property-level cash flows and industry standard financial metrics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Argus
  • Highly organized with a high level of attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of real estate fundamentals and procedures
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, prioritize workload and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and collaborative, “team player” mindset
  • Periodic travel to West Coast markets as needed
