Opportunity

• Gain exposure to a variety of strategies across debt and equity investments within US real estate which could include residential land, single family rental, hospitality, student housing, medical office or other alternative assets.

• The role includes analysis, due diligence, execution and monitoring of investments.
• This position will report to a Senior Investment Professional and will interact closely with other members of Värde’s investment team.
• Sit in Värde’s NY or MN office with up to 25% travel required

Summary of Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed quantitative and qualitative analysis in order to assist in generating investment strategies and underwriting potential investments.
• Significant focus on modeling of complex collateral and structures.
• Review investment documents and structures.
• Review and summarize industry research.
• Participate in meetings and calls with advisors, attorneys, consultants and other counterparties.

Qualifications

• University degree required. Finance/economics or quantitative-based degrees preferred.
• 2+ years in investment banking, leveraged finance, credit analysis, private equity, hedge funds, real estate or other similar roles. Real estate, in particular, housing investment experience is a plus but not required.
• High level of intellectual curiosity and ability to learn and work across multiple asset classes.
• Very strong math and financial modeling skills.
• Ability to simplify and clearly present/articulate detailed analysis.
• Highly Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ability to efficiently use analytical tools and information resources.
• Personal characteristics of collaboration, integrity, self-motivation and resourcefulness.
• Ability to manage multiple projects under time pressure.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
