Ullico Infrastructure Management Company (“UIMC”) is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate (depending on candidate qualifications) to join the Ullico Infrastructure Fund (“UIF” or the “Fund”) investment team. UIF has investments in various types of infrastructure including, but not limited to, renewable energy, conventional power generation, utilities, energy, transportation, and digital infrastructure. The position will support the Fund’s asset management, acquisition and portfolio management activities in overseeing existing investments and adding new investments that meet the Fund’s strategy and investment parameters.

 

Primary responsibilities of the role will include, without limitation, the following:

 

  • Within the existing UIF portfolio and for new portfolio investments, work closely with various portfolio company management teams and their respective boards of directors to shape corporate strategy and implement value enhancing initiatives, including capital projects, operational improvements, re-financings and follow-on acquisitions
  • Within the existing UIF portfolio and for new portfolio investments, review and analyze construction plans, business plans, board material and other information prepared by management of portfolio companies
  • Execute and support acquisition of new and bolt-on acquisitions
  • Direct the development and maintenance of financial models for portfolio investments and help with internal valuation of portfolio companies
  • Coordinate acquisition due diligence activities including managing of third-party advisors
  • Draft and negotiate definitive documentation
  • As needed to support portfolio investments, coordinate third-party credit rating processes
  • As needed to support portfolio investments, coordinate debt financing activities including preparation of marketing material, documentation negotiation and transaction execution
  • Support portfolio management activities including fund valuation activities and investor reporting
  • Lead or support industry or market research initiatives and assist in preparing presentations on research findings

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum 3-5 years of professional work experience, preferably in a combination of engineering and M&A through prior experience in principal investing, corporate development, investment banking and/or consulting
  • Engineering degree combined with MBA, CFA, CPA or other finance training
  • Demonstrated competency in technical analysis, corporate finance, financial modeling, due diligence, valuation, deal structuring, and transaction process
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and proven experience preparing polished presentation materials
  • Strong attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and desire for self-development
  • Self-directed critical thinker and complex problem solver
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to work effectively as part of a team, with a willingness to work in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong relationship orientation with an ability to build and maintain productive relationships with internal and partners including portfolio company management teams, third-party advisors and vendors

 

 

Physical/Mental Requirements

Work requires only minor physical exertion and/or physical strain. Work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements.
