The firm is a full private equity owner and operator....thus, acquisitions, property management, construction, property maintenance and dispositions are fully integrated.  

 

 

Description

The Property Staff Accountant will be a member of the TGM Accounting and Finance team. The team provides accounting and financial reporting for TGM management and investors. This position plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of TGM’s financial statements and control environment.

 

Responsibilities

Primary responsibility is to maintain books and records of the assigned investment entities with primary emphasis on the following:

  • Monthly preparation of property level and consolidated financial statements using MRI.
  • Monthly analysis of various workpapers including accruals, prepaid insurance, real estate taxes, bad debt, fixed asset.
  • Bank reconciliations for both property level and corporate level bank accounts.
  • Prepare/maintain monthly journal standard entries.
  • Review invoices for proper coding and authorization.
  • Prepare annual personal property returns.
  • Calculate and post management fees and advisory fees.
  • Maintain/code intercompany billings and receivables.
  • Prepare and record all journal entries.
  • Prepare reconciliation of subsidiary ledgers (rent rolls/tenant files and accounts payable) to the relevant general ledgers.
  • Perform variance analysis and analytical procedures for assigned entity and underlying properties.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarter-end GAAP financial reporting.
  • Provide financial support to property management including substantial communication with property managers and regional offices.
  • Assist in buy-side due diligence with some travel required.
  • Drive process change and process improvements.
  • Assist with special projects upon request.

 

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • General understanding of finance/accounting/financial analysis and reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to manage time well, be a self-starter, strong work ethic.
  • Excellent analytical abilities, strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of operations and senior management.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong excel skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing deadlines.
  • Minimum three years of experience in accounting, preferably in real estate.

 

Education Requirement

Undergraduate degree in Accounting.
