Job Description:
As an Associate, you will be responsible for assisting in the creation and implementation of a business plan for multifamily properties the firm owns in the Sunbelt region of the United States. The role will assist with the acquisition/disposition process and encompass portfolio optimization, property management oversight, management of construction project bidding and completion, financial analysis, accounting, and various reporting/communication associated with equity partners and regional/community managers. This position reports to the Head of Asset Management at a growing value-add multifamily investment firm with total assets under management equating to $1.2 billion. One Real Estate Investment based in Brickell, Miami.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in managing and optimizing the management of a rapidly expanding portfolio of value-add multifamily assets in Texas and the Sunbelt Region
• Work closely with the Chief Investment Officer and the Head of Asset Management in achieving peak portfolio performance, value creation, and operating efficiency
Asset Management duties include:
• Develop and implement in-depth business plans and value-add strategies for newly acquired assets
• Assist in the due diligence process of potential acquisitions
- Deliver timely and accurate budgets and meet financial reporting needs for investors
• Work with third-party property management companies to ensure renovation deadlines are managed and met
• Oversee on-site management teams to track and enhance property performance and guide capex projects in the portfolio
• Perform analyses using Excel to project future cash flows and return profiles
• Handle various tasks related to the asset such as lender requests, third-party reports, investor analysis
• Collaborate with other departments such as Acquisitions, Capital Markets, Investor Relations, and Accounting
• Meet weekly with the senior management to discuss all strategic decision making on the assets under management
Qualifications and Desired Skills:
•Bachelor’s degree from a four-year university in real estate, finance, accounting, or related field of study
• 2-5 years of experience with a commercial real estate firm, preferably with a focus on multifamily
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required
• Ability to multitask and handle various projects at once
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and foster industry relationships
- High levels of organization and keen attention to detail
- Working knowledge of real estate valuation and financial modeling
- Ability to read and interpret property financial statements including income statements and balance sheets
- Entrepreneurial spirit who works well autonomously
- Ability to travel for site visits and property tours as needed
