Position Description
Our client is seeking an innovative professional to lead real estate development efforts. This role will be involved in all aspects of projects, including land acquisition, design, entitlement, permitting, construction, leasing, land sales and budget preparation. The position will be responsible for analyzing and determining the financial feasibility of proposed projects and coordinating and negotiating with consultants, developers, and various industry stakeholders. This motivated self-starter will also play an influential role collaborating with the leadership team on department-wide initiatives. 
 
Responsibilities
  • Work directly with Assistant City Manager and leadership team to assess and identify real estate needs, balancing growth with financial and operational considerations
  • Develop comprehensive real estate strategy in coordination with General Services
  • Solve complex real estate problems and identify solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively establish relationships with and interact with the real estate development community including owners, developers and brokers
  • Manage the due diligence process of projects and land opportunities 
  • Lead the overall development process with project teams 
  • Negotiate sale and purchase agreements for projects
  • Work with legal to review and approve all project agreements and contracts
  • Research and track latest industry trends
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Strong knowledge of commercial real estate lease documents and leasing processes

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, business administration, architecture, or any related field
  • Broker’s license preferred
  • 7+ years’ experience in real estate development, project management or land development
