Vice President, Controller/Treasurer

The Vice President, Controller/Treasurer's general responsibilities will include: 

• Accounting and reporting for all Beach Company entities, as well as board and management reporting;  
• Cash management and ongoing lending relationships; 
• Risk management and insurance; 
• Income and property tax compliance. 

Position specifications: 

• At least twelve years in progressively responsible financial management and accounting roles with real estate concerns or accounting firms serving real estate clients. 
• Strong accounting requirements and reporting skills; candidates will have acquired a thorough understanding of GAAP reporting requirements; will be capable of delivering timely financial metrics for executive management to use in running the business; and candidates should have exposure to tax as well. 
• Analytical skills, will innately understand how numbers fit together; will be proficient developing cash flow forecasting models and budgeting analysis. 
• Leadership ability - must possess a heightened sense of internal expectations and high standards; must have a participative, team building style; will work to obtain buy-in from his/her subordinates and peers; will command respect, not demand it. 
• Organizational skills - will be accustomed to an environment where multi-tasking is the norm; must practice the right balance between details and big picture. 
• Professional presence - must have a personal style that suggests he/she will be effective in dealing with company's bankers, investors, and/or key suppliers. 
• Results oriented - someone who sets high performance and accountability standards; a doer accustomed to rolling up his/her sleeves to make things happen; sense of urgency. 
• Team player - while the candidate must be ambitious, this ambition should be directed at the success of the company/team rather than at personal goals; will have strong convictions. 
• Candidate will have high standard of ethics and integrity in all personal and professional matters. 
• Bachelor's Degree, preferably in accounting, finance or business and a CPA are required.
