JOB SUMMARY

This position will lead and support implementation of energy and decarbonization initiatives in the US portfolio of a major US financial institution.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Major focus on Energy and Carbon Reduction- project and program development, strategy and delivery for clients' real estate portfolios.

Drive continuous year-over-year improvement and performance across a large US-centric real estate portfolio including office and retail bank branch sites.

Develop and maintain site-level Operational Carbon Reduction plans, including recommendations and implementation process around energy, carbon and water performance.

Leverage Controls, BMS, Analytics, Ongoing-Cx to drive operational efficiencies.

Measurement and Verification of program impacts, benchmarking and assessment.

Implement programs to achieve savings goals and targets by specified timelines.

Analyze energy and water consumption metrics to find opportunities and create plans to sustain energy savings.

Lead identification and prioritization of energy capital projects, planning, operational changes and physical plant upgrades, resulting in reduced energy consumption (may include HVAC, lighting, building envelope, demand response and controls, plug loads, distributed generation, employee engagement, and evaluating new technologies and services).

Establish and monitor utilities budget.

Provide forecasts of utility expenses throughout the portfolio.

Develop and evaluate financial viability of projects for budgeting and approval.

Report clear and concise metrics on various energy and sustainability activities.

Communicate plans and progress to all levels of staff through presentations and meetings.

Support water saving and recycling programs as requested.

Facilitate new business pursuits and business development through relationship building and building walkthroughs.

Perform energy analysis and efficiency calculations.

Multi-task and adequately organize responsibilities. Strong project management and oversight skills.

Strong, in-depth knowledge of sustainability and energy principles and concepts, particularly related to the built environment.

Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, building automation and control systems across a variety of building types.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

BS in engineering (electrical, mechanical, industrial, civil) or comparable work experience.

Strong experience with energy conservation, energy management, performance contracting or energy engineering.

Confirmed excellent internal and external customer service.

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

Professional Engineer (PE) and/or Certified Energy Manager (CEM) highly encouraged. Sustainability accreditation (LEED or WELL) recommended.

COMMUNICATION

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.

Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers.

Adequately present information and respond productively to critical issues.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret refined documents and clear up problems involving several options in situations. Requires exceptional analytical and quantitative skills

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Carbon footprint reporting experience or training preferred. Training and accreditation part of development and performance management requirements

Strong digital literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook and online software platforms, with the ability to use spreadsheets and data analysis applications

Experience with Tableau Prep Conductor or Power Query, Tableau Desktop or Microsoft PowerBi, Programming experience with Python, Experience with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint a plus
