Job Description
Newmark is seeking a Financial Analyst to join its Institutional Investment Sales Team within the New York City Capital Markets group.
The New York City Capital Markets Team advises on and executes complex transactions across the commercial real estate spectrum, including investment sales, loan sales, joint ventures, and capital raises. Consistently recognized as one of the most active sales advisors in New York City over the past decade, the team has played a leading role in many of the region’s and nation’s most high-profile transactions.
Our work spans all major property types including office, multifamily, retail, and industrial, as well as emerging asset classes such as life sciences, data centers, student housing, and senior housing.
The team represents a broad range of institutional and private clients, including REITs, pension funds, private equity firms, hedge funds, high-net-worth investors, and sovereign wealth funds. We also have deep experience advising on cross-border transactions involving global capital flows into U.S. real estate.
As a Financial Analyst, you will work closely with senior team members, gaining hands-on exposure to institutional-level deal execution and financial analysis. This role offers significant learning opportunities and professional growth within a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment. The analytical rigor and client exposure are comparable to that of an investment banking experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with senior team members on all stages of a deal (valuing, pitching, marketing, closing)
- In-depth financial underwriting of commercial property cash flows including due diligence review and transaction execution using Microsoft Excel and ARGUS
- Prepare pitch presentations, investment memoranda and various marketing materials for distribution to potential investors
- Perform in-depth real estate, company, and market research / analysis
- Participate in and lead property tours / site visits
QUALIFICATIONS
- Candidates must demonstrate a combination of academic aptitude, quantitative skills, personal motivation, and distinguished written and oral communication skills. It is strongly preferred that your background includes:
- Outstanding proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- ARGUS experience preferred
- Experience with financial modeling and understanding of basic financial concepts (DCF, IRR, capitalization rates, etc.)
- Enthusiastic self-starter who is proactive, entrepreneurial, and can work both as part of a team and independently
- Strong work ethic, incredibly interpersonal, and organized with strong attention to detail
- Excellent grammar and written/verbal communications skills
- Ability to interact professionally with clients at various levels
- Ability to consistently produce high-quality work under tight time frames
- Ability to manage multiple projects with hard deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably with coursework in economics, financial accounting, finance, or real estate
- Candidates must be able to work in the United States on a permanent basis
