Design Collective is looking for a talented urban designer with 3 to 7 years’ experience and a degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) to join our Urban Design studio. Candidates should have a passion for planning and designing livable, engaging, and sustainable places at a variety of scales. Our projects range from sites as small as a few city blocks to several hundred acres or more. Our design approach includes a rigorous context analysis, input from diverse area stakeholders via facilitated public design charrettes and workshops, and evaluation of economic, historic, cultural, social, and environmental considerations. Our planning and urban design expertise supports public sector agencies and private developer clients in transforming commercial corridors, revitalizing disinvested neighborhoods, planning for mixed-use and transit-oriented development, and rebuilding our cities and urban districts.
In addition to experience in these areas, candidates should have outstanding planning, design, analytical, graphic, writing, verbal, and presentation skills. Candidates should have demonstrated proficiency in CAD, GIS, Adobe Creative Suite, and Sketch Up.
