Vice President, Client Capital Management – ASIA
Clarion Partners is one of the largest real estate investment managers in the Americas and has managed real estate investments on behalf of institutional investors for more than 35 years. Our investment philosophy focuses on fundamental research within a broad operating platform of nine offices strategically located across the United States, Europe and Latin America. Clarion’s investment capabilities span the spectrum from core to opportunistic investments in both the equity and debt sectors.
Responsibilities:
The Vice President, Client Capital Management, will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with leading institutional real estate investors (including public and corporate pension plans, sovereign funds, endowments, foundations, life companies, real estate vehicles, as well as major real estate consultants). S/he will represent Clarion Partners with existing and prospective investor clients across Asia, with a primary focus on China, by supporting and executing new business opportunities on behalf of the Firm.
The VP will report to the Managing Director, Head of Asia - who leads the Firm’s efforts in the region. The role will be in Hong Kong.
• Proactively generate/source new marketing opportunities for Clarion Partners for both Funds and Separate Accounts and organize meetings/calls as required
• Coordinate and manage RFP, RFI, RFQ and investor/consultant questionnaire processes for prospects within coverage region; oversee preparation and customization of marketing materials for Asia
• Collaborate with appropriate departments to support existing clients and follow up with potential clients on all investor communications as well as client on-boarding
• Coordinate and pre-qualify all meetings with investors to ensure ‘product fit’ based on investors’ investment objective
• Manage third party relationships (e.g. placement agents) to maximize their focus
• Proactively follow-up on all investor communication and provide continuous feedback to investment team(s) as well as Client Capital Management team to ensure Clarion Partners’ products are aligned with investor demands
• Maintain fluency with the firm’s investment strategy, House View, and product offerings to effectively communicate to potential clients
• Actively participate in product development ideas and discussion around product refinement and enhancement processes by collecting and compiling market intelligence on the Asian capital markets.
• Attend industry conferences to represent Clarion Partners
• Reporting, analysis, and communication
Qualifications:
• Minimum 7-10 years of real estate experience (or institutional sales) in Asia and/or United States
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in business administration, finance, or real estate a plus
• Highly organized; meticulous attention to detail
• Self starter, strong work ethic, and collaborative nature
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Bilingual: English and Mandarin/Cantonese
• Travel required
