PositionFull-Time, Salaried, Performance-Based Bonus *Non-remote

Conventus is a multi-faceted finance company that utilizes a number of financing sources to bring low-cost and attractively structured bridge loan products to its customers.  As a Conventus Finance member, you will be at the center of our company’s daily lending activity as well as effort to optimally build the corporate capital structure.  

 

We are searching for an ethical and highly detail-oriented, organized finance professional with the desire to go the “extra mile” who shares our values and vision. This is a fantastic opportunity to be a key member of our team.

 

Management

  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Oversee the accounting operations for both the Holding Company and the Operating Company, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures
  • Assist in executing strategies to optimize the corporate capital structure
  • Lead and manage a direct report support staff (1-2)
  • Oversee the 3rdparty loan servicing effort
  • Collaboration with Debt fund business effort

 

Transactions

  • Ensure the timely and accurate recordation of the financial transactions with the Operating Company (each Mortgage Loan) and complete the posting process.
  • A/P & A/R Review (Expense Controls)
  • Prepare Budgeting & Forecasting for the Operating Company
  • Assist in management of OpCo liquidity & reporting
  • Manage investor communications (Qtr Equity Updates)
  • Manage Tax strategies
  • Manage preparation of tax returns, including coordination with our third- party CPA firm 
  • Collaboration and management of various private equity Fund financials
  • Fund Member Relationship management
  • KPIs / Scorecard Owner
  • Financials Systems management Reconcile 3rd party loan servicing statements 
  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions

 

Reporting

  • Oversee the issuance of timely and complete financial statements
    • Weekly projections
    • Monthly completed financials
  • Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
  • Construct and issue financial and operating metrics
  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
  • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
  • Provide for a system of management cost reports
  • Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations

 

Compliance

  • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
  • Monitor debt levels and compliance with applicable debt covenants
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

 

Qualifications

·      Solid experience with QuickBooks

·      Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel 

·      5+ years of experience working within the accounting/reporting function of a financial services organization and/or as an auditor with a public accounting firm. 

·      5+ years of experience working within the Mortgage and/or Hedge Funds accounting sectors
