A mid-size privately held and institutionally focused real estate investment and property management firm is seeking an accounting professional to perform various corporate accounting functions and oversight as well as support for investment partnership accounting and financial reporting. This position is ideal for an ambitious, experienced professional who seeks to join an established firm. This position will also provide the opportunity for independent initiative and judgment to improve accounting processes, procedures, financial reporting and growth in a corporate accounting and investment environment. Job Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Compile and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for various real estate investments and operating companies including parent and related subsidiaries
  • Manage cash transactions and balances for various investments/companies and prepare monthly cash flow projections
  • Assemble quarterly compliance reports as needed
  • Manage timely bank reconciliations for all corporate bank accounts and various treasury functions including bank relationships and intercompany balances
  • Prepare annual audit workpapers as needed and work with external audit and consulting firms as required
  • Manage Investor fund contributions and distributions and maintain online investor portal and assist in investor relations
  • Review Global loan portfolio and assist CFO and acquisition team in debt executions
  • Assist in managing internal investments and loans
  • Other daily corporate accounting duties or supervision of duties as assigned

Competency Requirements:

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently
  • Detail-oriented with a positive and customer-centric attitude
  • Proactive Self Sufficient with solid organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel. Advanced knowledge in Excel understanding concepts such as filtering data, use of mathematical, logical and financial functions a plus.
    • Previous experience with Yardi or other property management software
    • Real Estate Accounting or Industry experience a preferred

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance required, (CPA preferred but not required)
  • 2-5 years of financial analysis or accounting experience
