Basis Investment Group is looking to hire a Processor/Closer to join its Multifamily Finance production team.
Basis Investment Group is a New York based multi-strategy commercial real estate (‘CRE”) investment platform that originates and securitizes Agency, CMBS and Bridge senior mortgages, invests in subordinate debt including mezzanine loans, B-Notes and preferred equity, and opportunistically buys CMBS tranches including B-pieces & performing & distressed whole loans. JOB SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with loan originators, underwriters, analysts, brokers and borrowers to obtain documents required to underwrite and thereafter close commercial real estate loans
- Assist borrowers with completing Freddie Mac forms 1115, 1116, loan application addendums and upload all documents to DMS for underwriting with Freddie Mac
- Review borrower’s insurance policy(s) to ensure they met Freddie Mac guidelines, and upload to ICT for processing
- Organize loan files, prepare and maintain needs list, and follow-up as required to ensure receipt of all necessary documents
- Track orders for appraisals, environmental site assessments, physical inspection reports, preliminary title reports, credit reports and other third-party reports to ensure timely receipt
- Assist underwriting in clearing pre-funding conditions and prepare wiring instructions for disbursement of loan proceeds
- Develop and transmit electronic loan files for pre-funding approval of warehouse lender
- Coordinate final preparation of loan documents and closing procedures with title officers and closing attorneys
- Conduct pre-closing file reviews and facilitate approvals to close
- Receive and audit executed closing documents and transmit original documents to third party original document custodian
- Follow-up as required to obtain title insurance policies, recorded mortgage and other security instruments, and other post-closing documents
- Prepare loan boarding input documents for loan servicer and transmit completed files to internal loan file custodian
JOB SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- College degree preferred, but not required
- 2 to 3 years of experience preferably with Agency lending platform(s)
- Familiarity with Freddie Mac systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a focus on Excel and Word
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated worker with the ability and flexibility to work in a dynamic, team setting as well as independently
