Analyst Position Description:

 

Walton Street Capital is seeking an energetic, self-motivated, team-oriented individual who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced and dynamic environment. Candidates should have strong analytical and communication skills and be motivated leaders as well as entrepreneurial thinkers.  Since the firm has relatively few investment professionals, each member of the deal team must be able to independently handle significant responsibilities at an early stage in their career. The new analyst will join as a member of the Asset Management Group. As part of the Asset Management Group, the analyst will be responsible for improving and monitoring the operational performance of our retail assets, as well as implementing redevelopment, refinancing and disposition strategies.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the ongoing asset and portfolio management of retail investments (including lease analysis, budget reviews, quarterly property reviews, valuations, return analysis, and sell/hold analysis)
  • Create and maintain sophisticated financial models of retail real estate assets
  • Work with operating partners to oversee the operational performance of retail properties
  • Prepare and present investment committee summaries and proposals
  • Assist in the due diligence, closing and structuring of asset re-financings and dispositions
  • Conduct market research and feasibility assessments for development and redevelopment projects

 

Qualifications:

  • Four-year bachelor’s degree required, preferably from a major in Business/Economics or related field
  • 1-2 years of real estate experience; retail real estate experience a plus
  • Strong proficiency in ARGUS DCF, ARGUS Enterprise and Excel is required
  • Outstanding analytical ability
  • Willingness to learn in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
