The Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, DC is searching for a System Engineer responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, modifying, and maintaining automated information systems that support Division's Facility Services branch and its users. The responsibilities at this level include: the tailoring of commercial software products to support business processes; development of interfaces to other automated information systems; construction of software components or selection of commercial software products needed to satisfy facilities services functions; integration of software components; implementation support services; maintaining applications; and post implementation support services.

 

Requires a level of knowledge in IT and experience in analysis, design, system development, implementation and support of complex automated system that are used by our Facility Services branch. Technical skillsets include but not limited to operating systems, VBScript, PowerShell, SQL, high-level programming languages, database management system, understanding of networking, and embedded system. A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or computer information systems or equivalent work experience. Position also requires a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in an IT workspace. Five years minimum at the FR-26 grade of professional experience in an IT workspace, and six years minimum at the FR-27. Also requires ability to support users ranging from novice to advanced; function in a rapid changing environment while delivering excellent service to clients; and handles stress in a professional manner.

 

Main focus is supporting our facility services branch on their application and building automation technology. The candidate must be technically savvy with a proven track record of assessing technical issues, perform analysis, and propose solutions within our operating parameters to management. A must: Strong verbal and written communication skills; experience programming with a high level programming language (.Net preferred) and SQL; experience with server configuration and application integration. Highly desirable is experience with supporting facility and building management group and facility and building technologies.
