Since our formation four years ago, SKW Funding has developed into a leading private lending platform that provides every form of lending conceivable including first lien, mezzanine, and note financing, in every category of commercial real estate.  The company has originated and acquired over $200 million in loans to date.

Position Description:

In connection with the continued growth of its company, SKW Funding is seeking to hire a strong candidate to join its team.  SKW Funding has an immediate need for an experienced individual to assist with all aspects of originations, underwriting, asset management and loan servicing in the firm’s growing portfolio.  It is essential that the individual is extremely proactive, detail oriented, highly capable of managing multiple roles and various deals effectively and enjoys working in a collegial team environment. Great opportunity for growth within the company while working on a variety of real estate transactions, including multiple property types in NYC and other major metro areas.

Responsibilities:

 Originations / Underwriting

  • Pre-screen real estate loan opportunities
  • Research and analyze market data on local sub-markets in NYC and other major metro areas
  • Build and maintain complex financial credit and real estate valuation models using Excel
  • Prepare Investment Memos
  • Coordinate and review third party due diligence reports
  • Assist structuring and coordinate legal documents
  • Act as a point person with borrowers, investors and third parties throughout the loan closing process

Asset Management / Loan Servicing

  • Asset manage and maintain Excel models of portfolio positions and valuation metrics for each portfolio loan
  • Interface with borrowers to monitor progress on projects and to ensure milestones and reporting requirements are met
  • Prepare monthly billings and monitor receipt
  • Ensure and maintain effective and harmonious borrower and lender relations
  • Prepare monthly asset management updates and financials for committee review
  • Monitor construction progresses and manage construction consultants
  • Interface with bankers, investors, property managers, attorneys and third party consultants as needed

Qualifications:

  • 2 plus years’ acquisitions, loan originations or asset management experience in investment real estate, preferably in NYC
  • Well-developed credit, analytical and financial modeling skills and experience in commercial, residential and/or multi-family real estate lending preferred
  • Experience working with a New York City real estate owner/developer/investor
  • Strong excel skills
  • Strong writing skills and communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills given the small team environment
  • Organized and highly detail oriented
  • Highly motivated
