This is a unique opportunity for an experienced retail real estate leader grow  just over 100 club/ facilities to more than 200+  over the next two years across 10 states (southwest/midwest and some east coast)  and over $125 million in revenue.   Company is PE backed and is  based in  Texas, the company is prioritizing growth through new store build out and acquisitions across strategic U.S. markets while also executing an aggressive capital improvement program across existing entities. The  Head  of Real estate will report to the President  and be a critical member of the executive leadership team. It is expected the he/she will meaningfully contribute to the strategy, competitive advantage, and execution and risk management of the company. The successful candidate needs to be fearless, resilient, and self-driven as well as stand by his/her own voice, and operate with deep empathy, compassion, and integrity.

 Responsibilities

  • Develop real estate market strategies, infrastructure and process to achieve company goals
  • Direct the Real Estate pipeline process ensuring efficient, timely, quality property decisions including timely opening of clubs and maximization of EBIDTA
  • Lead and nurture broker network, including market and site visits
  • Build strong real estate talent and capability aligned to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the real estate team
  • Creatively drive opportunities to maximize return on investment and reduce costs with strong financial focus on EBITDA
  • Direct and coordinate real estate support functions such as (Legal, Finance, Architecture, etc.) and Brand executives to ensure effective execution of store capital and lease actions.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of 10+ years in house experience in retail real estate
  • Strong industry reputation and a track record of building relationships with retail brokers, landlords and developers
  • Extensive knowledge of specialty store and big box retailing in rural markets, strip malls, power center and street retailing environments
  • Prior experience with small market landlord/real estate developers, including portfolio partners and outlet centers
  • Thorough knowledge in and experience with advanced negotiation strategies and techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, communicate and provide leadership in a Retail organization
  • Ability to develop, motivate and inspire a real estate team
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of legal and regulatory issues related to Retail Real Estate deals
  • Strong executive presence; excellent interpersonal skills; articulate communicator with strong retail financial; analytical and accounting skills.
  • Bachelors degree related field / business administration required. Masters in related field / business administration preferred
  • Willing to travel 50%
