Position Description:
The Associate will focus primarily on monitoring and reporting performance of a nationwide portfolio of single family rentals and flips and reviewing and approving the acquisition of larger home portfolios.
Specific responsibilities include: performing property and portfolio return analyses; conducting market assessments and making recommendations based on results; reviewing renovation draw applications; interacting with joint venture partners; monitoring business plan performance and reacting to correct any variances; maintaining a meticulous schedule to track various capital accounts; and Asset Management and Investor Reporting.
Responsibilities will also include: traveling domestically to visit real estate assets, companies and existing partners and occasionally assisting the acquisition team with underwriting potential real estate and structured finance acquisitions.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years relevant experience preferred, including: real estate acquisitions, asset management, construction management/budgeting, loan servicing, accounting/audit, operations, or finance
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Development and/or real estate cash flow modeling experience
- Detail oriented
- Strong quantitative and technical/computer skills (including proficiency in Microsoft Excel)
- A true self-starter capable of accomplishing complicated tasks with limited supervision
- Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, business or related area and/or an MBA in real estate or finance
