Job Description:
Seeking a Loan Production Analyst for the Affordable Multifamily Finance group. This position will be responsible for working with originators to assist with the sourcing and screening of real estate lending opportunities including balance sheet loans, agency (Fannie and Freddie), bridge and mezzanine loan opportunities. This role will also require a basic understanding of low-income housing tax credits (“LIHTC”) and LIHTC equity. In this role, the analyst will be a critical member of the team, helping originators with client needs to review and analyze loan requests, draft preliminary term sheets and follow through with client (with oversight by loan originator) until transaction is signed. The person will report to the Head of Multifamily Affordable Finance. Additional details regarding the position are outlined below:
- Support debt originators related to overall sourcing and deal screening activities
- Provide analytic support and loan underwriting screening help with senior commercial mortgage professionals, run financial models and proformas, financial and credit analyses of properties, locations, markets, borrowers and other initial due diligence
- Draft initial term sheets
- Perform ongoing market coverage and competitor research
- Participate in industry events to gain industry knowledge, network with industry peers, and increase the team’s presence in the market
- Assist with origination and platform related internal projects and data management
- Some travel may be required
Requirements / Competencies:
- Minimum three years of commercial real estate debt experience, including two years minimum in affordable housing.
- Knowledge of commercial real estate marketing and origination
- Ability to multitask among different projects and originators
- Solutions focused mindset, creative
- Some experience screening commercial real estate loans
- Some knowledge of LIHTC preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and collaboration skills
- Quantitative abilities needed as well as general knowledge of capital markets
- Four year college degree require
