Leasing Manager, Real Estate Services

 

JOB SUMMARY

 

UCI Real Estate Services and Strategies

 

The UCI Real Estate Services and Strategies unit is responsible for space lease negotiations and management; lease administration, strategic and portfolio planning to support to Campus and Medical Center executive management up to and including the Office of the President. Other key areas of responsibility include ground lease management; financial analysis; real estate development and contract negotiation; negotiation of license agreements and other contract forms for property use and real property easements; provide internal and external consultation as it relates to all aspects of University real estate issues. 

 

Reporting to the Executive Director of Real Estate Services, this position is responsible for overseeing, planning and organizing portfolio management services including, off-site real property leases, land use agreements, real property purchase and sale agreements, due diligence, and capital improvement projects for multiple organizational and functional units. The incumbent will manage real estate activities for both the UCI Campus and the UCI Medical Center (UCIMC), serving as a first point of contact for real estate activities.

 

Maintain excellent working relationships and frequent communication with all levels of management. Perform special projects as requested by the University of California, Office of the President and Regents officials as requested. Work closely with the University's designated third party real estate service provider to ensure that best business practices are employed (transaction management, lease administration, timely and accurate data reporting). The position will preserve and develop similar relationships with city, county, and state agencies; MAI appraisers; real estate and financial consultants and the local real estate community.

 

As directed, prepare concise, objective, persuasive and analytical written documents, including complex financial analyses, pro-forma analyses, proposals and related real estate financial planning documents.

 

Salary: Commensurate with experience (MSP I)

Total Hours: 8-5, M-F

REQUIRED

Bachelor's Degree required: Finance, Business Administration or Real Estate preferred and a minimum of 9-10 years of direct experience in a corporate real estate, real estate planning, commercial real estate brokerage, real estate operations; or equivalent experience,  

Experience managing a functionally diverse real estate portfolio.

Problem solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks is a must.  

Exceptional accuracy and organizational skills, attention to detail is required.

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal direction.

Exceptional work ethic.

Ability to drive the timely completion and closure of all projects.

Familiarity with commercial real estate transaction processes and regulations from the initial proposal stage through lease or purchase contract execution.

Experienced real estate negotiator who understands the Orange County commercial real estate market (office, industrial, medical).

Proven track record of developing, executing and managing real estate processes and strategies within large complex organizations.

Ability to present complex financial and organizational information to executives in a clear and concise manner.

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written, with all levels of the organization.

Deep understanding of real estate related processes: strategic sourcing, facilities management, location management, lease transaction management, design, construction and project management.

Deep understanding of clients organizational needs.

Deep understanding of flow of goods and services, involving the movement and storage of materials for warehouse purchases.

Strong business acumen, analytical skills

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and deadlines.

Excellent business judgment, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Proficient in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
