Systima Capital Management will be moving headquarters to downtown Chicago on August 1, 2019.

Job Description

The Investment Analyst will support the overall investment and asset management process in high-yield structured credit securities and work closely with the Portfolio Manager/Director of Risk Management and Vice President of Investments.  Specifically, the Investment Analyst will assist in all phases of the investment process.  This will include, but is not limited to:

  • Screening investment opportunities
  • Performing due diligence, underwriting, structuring and closing of new investments
  • Monitoring the performance of the existing portfolio

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate investment opportunities and perform market and financial analysis, including cash flow and waterfall modeling.
  • Review and analyze legal documents, operating agreements, loan documents, financial statements and third-party reports. 
  • Prepare Investment Committee Memos to highlight credit strengths and risks pertaining to transactions, including loan structure, cash flow, valuation and market information.
  • Identify, research, structure and model investment opportunities in new and existing credit related markets.
  • Assist with asset management, including spreading financial statement, investor reporting and performing site inspections.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and create presentations as requested by senior management and/or investors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance or Real Estate.
  • 1-3  years of analytical  experience, especially  in real estate investments. Familiarity with structured products is a plus.
  • Advanced financial modeling skills, particularly Excel, SQL and Macro/VBA preferred.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing tasks, working with integrity in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and superior  organizational and communication skills.
