Paid Internship: Real Estate Research and Modelling

Paid internship - Approximately 20 hours per week.  

Candidate should have several years of real estate experience or have completed a real estate program at a major school.  

ParkSlope Capital is in the process of forming investment funds and marketing interests in those funds.  In support of its marketing effort as well as its search for responsible and profitable investments, it is looking for an intern who can conduct research into various real estate markets and demographic data and who can assemble and present that research in a simplified form in order to assist executives, investors and potential investors in understanding the markets and making investment decisions. In addition, the successful candidate will be asked to create financial models based in part on that research.  ParkSlope Capital is an emerging manager and the successful candidate will be considered for a permanent position at the appropriate time.  

Qualifications:

• Language:  English.  As all investors are U.S. domestic and all investments will be in the U.S., business is conducted exclusively in English and a command of the English language is required.
• Real estate:  at least five years of real estate experience, preferably real estate financial experience, or finance experience plus completion of a real estate program at a recognized graduate school. 
• Private equity experience is a plus
• Land development research is a plus
• Organizational skills
• Strong financial modeling skills using Excel; creation of power point presentations; expertise with Argus; creation of charts
• Market analysis and visibility studies
• Interpersonal and communication skills - oral and written
• Must pay attention to detail; must be able to simplify data without compromising detail
• Self motivated; independent thinker
• Team player (we are a small group)
