ROLE PURPOSE

Dedicated resource to support the delivery of regional portfolio strategies and individual real estate transactions within the Real Estate Strategy & Transactions workstream for a global Investment and Retail Bank.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Responsible for producing comprehensive financial analysis for real estate scenarios, strategies, and alternatives, including P&L and balance sheet impacts using US GAAP and International Financial accounting standards, and cash and NPV.

  • Prepare business cases and approval documents (text, PowerPoint, Excel) for corporate approval of recommended transactions/strategy.

  • Implements and maintains key processes to be followed by the function and defines portfolio management priorities for site, area and function planning, and other strategic activities for specific engagements and clients as required.

  • Prepares and presents deliverables in oral, written, and visual formats relative to client strategy, industry benchmarks and best practices, and other topics as required.

  • Responsible for developing the client s regional real estate portfolio strategy

  • Proactively review the client s portfolio and provide ideas, input and analysis to support the client in the development of near-term and long-term portfolio plans, strategic reviews/metro plans.

  • Lead regular portfolio opportunity assessments, covering both the leased and owned portfolio, evaluate opportunities to take advantage of lease options/rights, changing market conditions and/or consolidation opportunities to optimize flexibility, reduce and contain costs or realize value, weigh benefits of lease vs. own

  • Regular analysis, prioritization and documentation of space demand, supply and utilization and identification of optimization potential

  • Manage stakeholder inputs for strategy development (FM, Projects, IT, Security, Finance)

  • Maintain a strategic agenda for the relationship between CBRE and the client, including an agenda of strategic initiatives and opportunities

  • Actively monitor and advise client on relevant emerging market and sector trends and best practices

  • Champion and take ownership of Strategy Management inputs into regional business review meetings.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers.  May lead project teams and/or plan and supervise assignments of lower level employees.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:



Advanced MS Excel user, ability to develop and use complex real estate financial models using MS Excel; working experience with pivot tables
Advanced PowerPoint presentation creation
Strong knowledge of financial and real estate accounting terms and principles
High level of accuracy in all analysis and presentations produced
Experience in management and mining of data and performing data analytics
Excellent internal and external client relationship management skills with demonstrated ability to create value
Strategic mindset and commercial acumen
Expert problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to support and motivate team members, leadership and respond to client deadlines
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set and achieve project deadlines, manage project pipeline, and manage client expectations
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to review and analyze complex financial / business reports / data and develop innovative solutions and management presentations. Excellent presentation skills
5+ years experience as financial analyst and developing real estate portfolio strategies
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university. Masters degree or MBA preferred
Finance, real estate, accounting, and/or business strategy desirable
