Division Director, Planning and Zoning - oversees the review of all development plans and evaluates the proposed use of land for structures, roads, utilities, landscaping, etc.; issues land use permits; reviews, analyzes and makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on all land use applications (re-zonings, PUDs, conditional uses and variance applications); provides information to the public on the Land Development Code and Growth Management Plan.

Responsibilities include budget preparation, development and implementation short-, mid-, and long-term divisional strategies, business plans and goals. Applies, interprets and amends the Collier County Land Development Code to ensure consistency with the substance and intent of the GMP. Maintains the Concurrency Management System in order to insure the public infrastructure necessary to support growth and land development in the County are available. Prepares the Annual Update and Inventory Report on Public Facilities (AUIR). Reviews and analyzes amendments and rezone petitions to determine consistency and statutory compliance. Resolves outstanding issues pertaining to the interpretation of the Growth Management Plan.

The hiring salary range is $95,375.00 - $119,353.00, depending on qualifications.

Minimum qualifications: Master's degree in Planning, Public Administration, or a closely related field; six years of experience in professional planning and management in a comparable community; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License with any applicable endorsements and maintain eligibility requirements and endorsement(s) to drive a County vehicle as provided in CMA 5805. Fingerprinting required.
