Position Responsibilities:

  • Proactively generate and communicate insightful market analyses.
  • Regularly interact with asset managers and acquisitions officers and respond to ad hoc research requests in a timely and thoughtful manner.
  • Acquire, compile, and disseminate commercial real estate market fundamentals and performance data.
  • Prepare market overviews and statistical analyses in support of investment memorandums, client reports/presentations and business plans.
  • Prepare supply, demand, and rent growth projections which are used as the basis for investment strategies, asset management, and acquisitions.
  • Monitor economic and real estate trends in order to formulate and complement house views on market conditions.
  • Provide written contributions to research reports and help to develop investment themes for further analysis.
  • Create, update, and format charts and graphs for internal and external distribution.
  • Partner with other team members on innovative new approaches to analyzing markets and micro-locations.

Education and Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in Economics, Finance or Business; advanced degree a plus
  • 5 years of commercial real estate research experience preferred but not required

Essential Qualifications:

  • Intellectual curiosity and desire to conduct studies of interest and relevance
  • A reliable and resourceful team player who is assertive, enthusiastic, and driven to succeed
  • Skilled at creative problem solving and deductive reasoning
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy of calculations
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • An understanding of the commercial real estate investment market in the U.S. and abroad
  • Experience working with major government and real estate data sources (e.g. Moody’s, BLS, CoStar, CBRE-EA)
  • Ability to work well within a small team and collaborate with internal groups and individuals at all levels of an organization under tight timeframes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent project management and organization skills
  • Strong preference given to candidates with experience in forecasting, Visual Basic Programming, GIS software, and machine learning techniques

The compensation plan for this individual will be commensurate with the skills required of the position and will be negotiated to attract exceptional candidates. The total rewards package will be comprised of a competitive base salary, annual incentive plan, and health plan.
